The origin of the Tank series is the first "Tank" created by Louis Cartier in 1917.
It features a rectangular design inspired by the top view of a tank, with straight lines (brancards) on both sides of the case.
In 1996, the "Tank Française" was introduced. Unlike the traditional Tank, which primarily featured leather straps, it adopted an integrated case and bracelet structure. This made it a popular model, combining elegance with practicality and sportiness for everyday use.
Did you know that the Tank Française actually had a model change? ♡
Today, we will thoroughly explain the differences between the new and old models!
1: Size Change

① New Tank Française
Cartier has updated the long-unchanged design of the Tank Française for a modern look, and has released a new model!♡
While inheriting the basic codes, the design has been refined for a more sophisticated impression.
Size
Length: 25.7mm
Width: 21.2mm
The new model is slightly larger than the previous one ♡

②Old Tank Française
This model retains the classic Cartier aesthetic. The square case and integrated bracelet's linear design create a striking impression, emphasizing a calm and elegant atmosphere ♡
Size
Length: 25.0mm
Width: 20.0mm
Smaller than the new model.
Compared to the new model, this one has a cleaner impression overall ♡
2: Dial Color Change

① New Tank Française
Changed to a silver-tone dial with a sunray finish.
② Old Tank Française
White/ivory-colored
3: Crown Specification Change

The crown specifications have also changed! ♡
Unlike traditional crowns, it is now flat and recessed.
The cabochon uses a synthetic blue spinel.
4: Lug Specification Change

① New Tank Française
The lugs are not separate; they are completely integrated.
② Old Tank Française
The lugs are composed of several parts.
These are minor details, but the specifications have changed! ♡

What do you think? ♡
The Tank Française, beloved for many years, has undergone a model change.
Personally, I prefer the new model's silver dial for its instantly sophisticated impression ♡
However, I still can't give up on the white dial...
This may depend on the image you want to create or your personal style. ♡
I hope this information was helpful in your decision-making! ♡
Lastly ♡
As shown below, older Tank Française models also include those with shell dials and combination materials ♡
Some of these are limited editions, such as the "Asia Limited Edition" with a black dial.
We have old models that cannot be purchased as current models in stock ♡
